Just ate here and it was fast, fresh and delicious. I had shrimp with lobster sauce and my friend had the sweet and sour chicken for lunch. The steamy hot and huge dinner rolls were a treat! We will be back.

Absolutely the best Chinese food around. I have to admit the decor for is a little dated and the place is not lit very well. What can I say John the owner is a little cheap. But the food is very authentic and good consistently. Good people working in here.

Excellent food & service. Our favorites are beef and broccoli, pineapple duck, and anything that is sweet and sour! Dinners come with soup, egg roll, steamed buns, and a fortune cookie! The decor is nothing to write home about, but the food is fabulous.

Bathroom was very nasty!!! Made me wonder what the kitchen was like!! Food was ok, nothing to call home about. I had the Boneless Almond Chicken based on Abigail's review. Sorry Abby...........it was as bland as can be tasting mostly like flour. Won't be going back.

I was getting my tires changed at Belle Tire so to kill time (and my hunger), my family and I went to Kwong Tung Palace. The decor is so reminiscent of the typical Chinese restaurant-dimly lit, Chinese characters on the wall, and the red/green/gold Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling. We were greeted right away by the hostess and escorted to a booth. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon; we were one of two booths at 3pm. The hubby ordered his usual Sesame Chicken combo while I opted to share the Imperial Lo Mein with my daughter. With the combos came a bowl of soup and we chose egg drop. The soup was not bad. It had plenty of egg in it and pretty thick. I had to add a few drops of soy sauce to add some salinity and that did the trick. I tasted some of the hubby's Sesame Chicken and the sauce was a little more tart than I'm used to. Usually when I eat Sesame Chicken, it is very sweet and sticky. The Imperial Lo Mein had a combination of noodles, carrots, cabbage, onion, shrimp, chicken, and pork. The lunch portion was still big enough to split between me and my daughter with leftovers. The shrimp were a good size and cooked perfectly. Again, the noodles could have used a little more salt so I added some soy sauce to my liking. All in all, I'd say it was a solid meal. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was cooked pretty quickly and the quality was good for the price we paid. I think I'll visit again the next time I'm in that area and am craving Chinese food. To those who say the food is bland: it is better for food to be a little bland than overly salted because you can always add more to your dish to make it to your taste. This goes for any restaurant, not just Kwong Tung's.

I've been coming to Kwong Tung Chop Suey since I was a child. Now, at 23, I'm pleased to find that it's still as good as I remember and that nothing has changed. By that I mean literally nothing has changed, it looks exactly the same as it did when I was in elementary school which fills me with a great sense of nostalgia every time I visit. In terms of food and service it's what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. You get a ton of food at a decent price and it's good. You also get nice, big dinner rolls with your meal which is something I've yet to experience elsewhere. Despite having been to numerous other restaurants over the last decade nothing compares to the egg-rolls they serve here. Though I don't stop in very often I'm glad they're still in business after all these years and hope they will continue to be long after I've left this area. Clearly they've been doing something right and, like their decorations, I doubt that's likely to stop and change anytime soon.

I am one of those people that likes certain items from certain restaurants and when I want to EAT that certain food I MUST get it from that place. In this case, I have NEVER EVER EVER found a Boneless Almond Chicken dish that even comes close to this place. I live just down 23 Mile from this place. In 1999 we moved here from North Dakota. One of the first things my family and I had to do was find a new go-to Chinese place. No really, it was up there with making sure the moving van brought our furniture to our new house and making sure the payment on our home cleared. Usually my family orders the same thing everywhere. Egg rolls, a huge mondo order of pork fried rice with a side of the spicy mustard, and maybe some lo-mein. Starting from the first evening we moved into our new home we found a new love -- Kwong Tung Chop Suey. About a year later, and much fried rice later, I began to work at the Kmart across the street from it. While I was there a kid I also went to school with was sitting on his lunch break eating a dish that smelled absolutely amazing. I asked him what it was, he offered me a bite, and ever since that day it has been the only dish I seem to order there. It was, indeed, the Boneless Almond Chicken. Their egg rolls are okay, and their fried rice is like any other fried rice, but their Boneless Almond Chicken is to die for. If I were going to be put on death row, the chicken dish is what I would ask for as my last meal on this earth -- no embellishment. It's chicken with a tempura coating that comes with a side sauce. It's the side sauce that makes this entire dish. I can't even put into words how amazing it is. It's one of those dishes that I know when you guys try it you will send me a message, or respond to this review, and agree on the greatness that is the Boneless Almond Chicken. I'm looking forward to reading what you guys have to say because if you don't like the Boneless Almond Chicken I'm going to have to say you're a terrorist.

Wow, this place can probably be carbon dated and only 3 reviews? My family has been coming here since before I can remember. We've lived on 23 Mile since it was dirt-no really there are pictures! I can still remember nights I went to bed hungry after stomping around the kitchen screaming "I only want an eggroll!" I have gone back only sporatically in the past few years and the restaurant is really not anything spectacular-just has that kind of nostalgia that comes with having spent so much time there as a child :) The fried rice is decidely average-maybe slightly below. The real stars of the show IMHO are as follows (in no particular order): Sweet and sour shrimp-they are like donut rings and very large. Plus the sauch comes on the side in a carry out which is a bonus. That way the tempura batter is nice and crispy when you get home. Won ton soup-by itself is average but if you dine in you get giant sweet rolls on the side to dip which basically fills me up prior to even tasting the meal. Drinks (alcohol)-come in the most over the top glassware I've ever seen. In fact, I think every member of my extended family has one in their collection from pilfering over the years. The drinks themselves, however, are pretty sugary sweet as per usual in Chinese establishments but potent nonetheless. The entrance-looks like you are entering the forbidden palace. Juvenile, I know. My aunt who moved to Tennessee has kittens over the eggrolls. I'm on the fence-could be she just misses the bean sprout filling which is unheard of in the cabbage loving Korean dominated southern asian joints. If you want better than decent Chinese food in a semi-kitschy atmosphere for a good price this is your place.

Decent Americanized Chinese food. Lunch for two of us was $15.00 Decor was right out of 1970s. Darkly lit.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
